A Neighborhood Store

Remember when I went to the store late and couldn't find the Southwest Veggie Tray?

I returned to the store on Friday, shopping for stuff to make my 4th of July dinner. I rounded the corner to the sampling counter.

"Were you here a few days ago looking for the Southwest veggie platter?"

I looked up to find the lady who helped me the other day behind the counter.

"Yes?"

"I feel bad about this because I think I might have shown you the wrong section the other day," she said. "Here, let me show you." She came around and walked me to the vegetables.

Earlier, we were looking at the other end, somewhere by the the salad dressing and pre-cut fruits. There were packages of the party tray with the ranch dressing on there. This time, we walked to the other end, and right there with the pre-cut broccolis lie packages of the party tray with the fingerling potatoes and the yummy Southwest dip.

"I don't know why we put these over here instead of over there. So, we might have had this in the store the other day, but I didn't know," she said sheepishly. "I'm sorry about that."

I told her it was okay, and that I didn't need this any more but it's good to know where it is.

First, she remembers me. Secondly, she remembers what I was looking for the other day. And finally, she wants to show me where it is so I can get it next time.

Ah. The "neighborhood store" quality emerges.
